Big Band Grandstand, Independence High School team up!

(To support recovery efforts after the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, CA.)

Big Band Grandstand on January 31, 2025, partnered with the music department at Independence High School in Glendale, AZ to raise funds aiding recovery efforts after the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, CA.  All proceeds of our benefit concert, hosted by Independence HS, were donated to the American Red Cross for L.A. wildfire recovery efforts.  Though the reason for the concert was a somber one, BBG – led by Music Director Jim DeBusk – and the students and staff of Independence HS – led by Music Director Joe Karim – take collective pride in doing our parts to help such an important cause.  The fundraising concert was filled with great music, and the student musicians even joined BBG to play a few songs.  It was a wonderful teaching and learning experience for all involved, and Big Band Grandstand was honored to present the American Red Cross with a check for $1,241.29!  Below you will find the letter we received from the Red Cross acknowledging our donation.
